Lot Kids
What's the best flooring for a big family with a lot of kids?
I want something durable and attractive, but I would like more input from anyone who has gotten flooring and is happy with it. What is your sugestions?
Tile is the nicest generally good solution for durability and cleanliness.
However vinyl flooring is generally the cheapest and most durable. It has a "cheap" look, though, except in the kitchen.
Don't even think of hardwood. It's too easy to damage (and is ruined by large amounts of water) and too hard to fix. Laminate is better but still is susceptible. Carpet is cheap and looks halfway decent but it is a breeding ground for all kinds of things and can stain.
Tile is probably your best option. Just make sure to get a reasonably durable type of tile and HAVE SPARES! If one gets broken you can always replace it.
Also make sure the grout is well-sealed.
